PLEASE DON'T DO THAT TO R/M songs...that is CLEARLY an R/M song. I am sure someone's done "Dice". Gawd, that just bothers me. I mean I realise that the songs aren't the property of the ships but please, I don't see any "Something Pretty"s for R/M...why would we have Honey and the Moon for R/T??

Ugh.
I don't even know if I hate the ship or if I hate the fact people impede on R/M stuff that is SACRED for the purposes of their own ship.
Also, I REALISE this sounds crazy and completely selfish but it just irks me.
that'd be like if a Kataanger claimed that Red and blue were THEIR colours. Honestly, we wouldn't even go there.

And yes, I am very passionate about my ships. A little too passionate, but never hostile in fandom settings. Only here...in this lonely little bog.

edit: how on earth is Cam Gigandet (aka Volchok, aka big tool) getting so much PR and damn roles in movies!? He's in Twilight too! But TBH, he was always a good actor to me, even if he played the world's biggest asshole. He was good at being evil. Keep being sexy Cam! Even if your name is hella weird. Almost as weird as Kevin Volchok lol!

I'm reading Ryrissa smut. No kidding. But it's from one of my favourite authors so...I have to read it. Who doesn't like the image of Marissa and Ryan having sex in a changing room. Oh my gawd. Granted, the author kind of shifts in and out of character for Ryan. He's a lot more angry and bored. Marissa is right on key though. I also don't like the way she demonizes Luke because I love Luke. And, she's pretty okay with Taylor actually. Even though I don't like R/T, I don't like it when people demonize Taylor. It's not her fault she's completely crazy. But pretty much, I like the way she writes Ryan and Marissa. They seem really happy together, and yet not which is the essence of R/M. I have yet to meet an author who completely captivates my interest in an R/M story. And she's a good writer and knows what she's writing. That's a bonus. So, I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!!

If anyone knows anymore good R/M writers, please point them in my direction. I'd love to read more Ryrissa <33
I have a hard time writing it because she's dead. I may do the whole "she's dead but came back" story though. Just to make me lol. Yeah. Sigh. Oh R/M you make me melt every time.

Is my favourite song, ever. I love this song to death and it is seriously a song a can listen to over and over again and never get tired of. It's awesome. I think most of it has to do with "the Countdown" but really, I wanna use this for a Malnara video too. I love Malnara! It fits so perfectly with them! <3 Also, I had a dream I met Melinda Clarke and just started asking her all these questions about the O.C. and Firefly. I am such a fangirl. Seriously though, I don't dream about actors and actresses. I dreamt about Melinda Clarke! Not even Ben or Meesh! So, I can't say stuff I obsess about necessarily translates to my dreams. Even though an R/M dream would be so awesome.

I painted my nails red and instantly thought of Summer. Mostly cuz she always seems to be painting her nails red. Oh and Marissa in one episode but her nails were darkish red...where mine are just full out red. Red's the "in" colour now though cuz I saw like four girls who had their nails painted red too. Red's just a sexy colour I guess :D. Omg, I miss the O.C. so much. More so missing the first and second season. I don't really miss the third or fourth even though I really started paying attention to the O.C. at the end of the second season and beginning of the third. Then I tuned out cuz things were starting to get stupid, and I kept on forgetting to watch it. By the time the fourth season rolled around, I was just praying that it'd be canceled to put us O.C. fans out of our misery.

Most people are really starting to pay attention to the series now anyway. Which is kind of strange you could say. But, the O.C. is a great show, and now that it's available online everyone wants to watch it. I'm seriously disappointed that it was canceled, but of course, there's a conflict in me because I really wanted it to just go. And, now that it is...I'm sad but at the same time relieved. Plus, I'm glad it's over and not completely dragged on like OTH. Which, needs to just end. Iunno, I don't like the show and I tried to like it but after watching an episode I was just bored beyond belief. Plus, I don't want to find more ships to get upset about. I'm perfectly content with my R/M, S/S and S/K and perfectly happy hating R/T.

I'm kind of strange.

OH and I have a new layout! It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find good layouts. This one's just awesome :D.

First off I want to thank squeaky for being such a cool dude and donating proceeds to saving animals. That's great dude, better than that load of shit we just got at LJ saying they cut of basic accounts to make more MONAIES for them. It's a corporation I am sadly apart of. But maybe not for long.

Anyway, I figured out why I multi-ship Seth and Summer. Ryan and Marissa pick the WORST people to be with when they are on break or just in general. Oliver is a lunatic, Theresa always shows up at the worst time possible for Ryan and Marissa, Lindsay is severely less pretty than everyone else and was so very irritating (sorry it's true and if you think otherwise, well, I'm glad there are people in the world like you and I'm very serious about that.), Sadie was Theresa without the history, Volchok was an ASS and he killed Marissa anyway, Johnny was Oliver watered down. WORST CHOICES FOR LOVERS EVER. I didn't even count Taylor because you guys know VERY well what I think about her.SO, That is why I can't multiship these two if my LIFE depended on it because...anyone else they choose is just a VERY, VERY bad choice.

With Seth and Summer. I LIKED the people they were with.
Zach was so hot even though he was kinda boring, Alex (with Seth anyway) was so awesome and kick ass, Anna is just plain awesome, and I didn't like Summer's "big" boyfriend but...all in all, loved them! All great fits, all just...GREAT <33333
So yeah, that is why I can multi-ship them both. Don't get me wrong, I think that Seth and Summer are SOOOO cute together and so great for each other, almost perfect...but they're good with other people too. In addition to this, notice how horrible Seth is at fidelity? Gawd, he's such a bad boyfriend sometimes but we all know he loves Summer in the end.

Edit://OMG Cam Gigandet (Volchok) is in Never Back Down! I was like, "OMG VOLCHOK!!!" and hahaha he's playing a guy named Ryan. Lol. Irony. But yeah I won't see that movie but he looks good in it. Still, Volchok was like the worst character ever. Still, had to say it.

R/M OF COURSE!
So, I got Kyle into the O.C. YES I DID! But yeah, omgggg I LOVE R/M SO MUCH NOW. DAMN YOU RYRISSA! You are TOO good. Omggggggg them together just makes my heart warm and happy. WHY IS SHE DEAD? Oh well, BeMi can live on. However, I will not ship it. I PROMISE IT! But yeah, someone please tell me what kinds of R/M fics I should read...so far I'm only reading sweetxnightmare's "Your Best Kept Secret". Which is going awesome so far. I usually don't read fanfics, but I didn't get my canon, I deserve this much.

At least R/T fans can write that Ryan and Taylor did get together at the very end (though I am sure they didn't now)...still.
Makes me sad. Death is harder to conquer.

The more people like the Ryan/Taylor relationship, the more I hate it. 
Honestly, I am one of those people that despise things the more people tell me to like it. Reading this OC Weekly reviewer, and honestly...gawd. I'll be honest, I missed out on most of the fourth season and I have no intention of watching it all and apparently at the end of the The French Connection Ryan does something much like "the Countdown"? Is it when he just kissed Taylor? Cuz, that wasn't much of a "Countdown" thing for me. That was...just R/T pressing their faces together with their gawdawful kisses. Them kissing is probably one of the fugliest things in the history of anything. There's no denying this. Also, sorry dudes that wasn't much of a Countdown scene, not enough magic not enough Finley Quaye. Mmm Countdown.

Anyway, I was going to list possible plotlines that could've saved the show.
Have the kids go their separate ways...why not have Ryan befriend Luke at Berkeley? Why not have Seth, Summer and Anna rekindle their love triangle at Brown? Why in hell not have Marissa have her little adventures out at sea where she meets a really hot guy who's a lot like Ryan? But not Ryan? All these things that could have and probably would have saved the show, were not implemented. Idiots! The lot of them. Anyway, I'm kind of depressed that someone actually compared that stupid kiss to Countdown. WHY?

After much thought, I'm going to watch Gossip Girl. Just to soothe my O.C. craze and the fact it's over. WHY?
Well I know why. Anyway my fiction is getting more intense but watching Ryrissa videos make me want to re think Rylaide. Yeah yeah Mischa is still Addie but she's not Marissa.
I still get annoyed people think that Taylor is the "best thing" to ever happen to Ryan. That's your opinion, and it's wrong. The best thing to happen to Ryan? Sandy Cohen and his wife. I won't even lump Marissa into that group. Coop was good to Ryan, and accepted him OFF THE BAT but she didn't care for him, didn't give him a home, didn't raise him. Kandy are the best things to ever happen to Ryan Atwood and if anyone says Taylor is again I will promptly slap them. Romance isn't on the top of the list of "best things" for people. Yeah.

On second thought...after reading the synopsis of the books for GG, maybe not. Shallow with no substance people. Btw, Josh Schwartz's inspiration aside from Woody Allen (everyone's inspiration) is Cameron Crowe. EXCELLENT! Kay, I love CC, but he has to remember to edit things. Elizabethtown was great but too long. Music was FAB though. Gawd, yeah. Also what was Josh doing at Comcon?? Well I would've probably told him, "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE KILLED MARISSA." if I met him. I'm still pretty much bent on the fact her death led to the HUGE ratings drop. Yeah the ratings were dropping in the third season but you don't revamp the show by killing off a main character. STUPID. I can't imagine how I would've ended it though. Maybe I would've had her just be in a coma like Trey. She doesn't wake up for a long while, cheese resumes? I don't know. I kind of wanted to see how the fab four would've gone through college...all of college like. But then to be fair, the show wouldn't be called the O.C. as much as it'd be called the U.S. Seeing as the pairs would've been split. Gawd, thinking about the O.C. just makes me sad.

Also, RACHEL DUMP HAYDEN ALREADY OMG HE'S SO UGLY.
And dye your hair black or dark brown again cuz it looks so gross. Hon, please. I miss AdChel. Also, I think I've become a little bit of a BeMi fan. WHY? I have this fantasy (lol sekrit fantashy) that Ben and Mischa will get together some how a la twist of fate. I donno RL canon really does it for me. Also seeing that Mischa is actually alive and Ben is actually alive, it makes me happy that Marissa is alive in some form. On that note, Mischa starring in film with Rachel's Boytoy? Thoughts? Mine were: LOL gross. Kinda Rymmer...cept...more unsightly. Mish has to kiss Hayden and apparently looks like she's really upset by it. Well duh YOU WOULD BE TOO IF IT WAS HAYDEN but I think it was because Rachel's dating Hayden and to my knowledge, Coop and Sum are RL friends. Makes me happy. I say this mostly because (or assume Mischa's thoughts) some reviewer of the film thought it looked like Mischa's bf was on set and she was nervous...so I dared to propose the contrary. Yeah.

I'm a little repulsed by Ben still but, I must say he'd probably make an awesome friend. Like, just that guy you sit next to in lecture, or that guy you hang out with occasionally on Fridays for coffee. That kind of guy. Other than that, for bf purposes, he still irks me. He's a little too southern if you know what I mean...kinda trashy. Sorry Texans. I'm sure not all of you are like this, in fact I knew a girl from Texas once. I seriously forgot her name. Btw, omg watching this interview with Ben and the interviewer was trying to predict...

I'm a little too convinced now that Ben and Mischa could make it work some miraculous way. I'm delusional, Zutarian, comes with the job. Not saying I'd RL ship them or write fanfics about them getting together (ew), but I think that whole John Mayer thing with Mischa made me think otherwise. But, Ben's a little boring in the entertainment circuit for Mischa. I really like the actors talk about their own characters though. Makes me kinda happy. Hehe. I LOVE RYRISSA <3 Also, someone made a comment about Ryan wearing tight shirts in the first season and I couldn't for the life of me remember aside from that one black shirt. Just saw one and...LOL. OH GAWD. But yeah, I think I wish that...Theresa ended up with Ryan in the end. It'd make some sense...it'd depress me more than anything but, it makes more sense than...Taylor. Marissa's death never ceases to make me sad. They were perfect...demolition lovers.

Also, Booter's critique on Katara makes me wanna do one for Marissa. Obviously Mar had more problems than Katara, but this girl was good...and she always meant well and did so much for Ryan. I love Ryrissa. Man, Ryrissa is the only couple I really actually genuinely love besides Kandy. I was SO happy when Sandy serenaded Kirsten...it was soooooo adorable. KANDY <3.

Anyway, I'm starting up another season to the O.C. I didn't revive Marissa which just doesn't seem plausible or right to me, but I wanted to put back Mischa Barton into the cast. I know a lot of people were butt hurt that Mischa was gone opposed to Marissa (I was upset Marissa was gone personally) and would probably want her back in some way or form. And, she is back...but in an unexpected way =)

SAMPLE:
"So...how are you going to ask her?" Seth asked, passing around an orange between his hands.

"You have to ask me this?" Ryan replied, opening the fridge to pull out a carton of orange juice. Seth smiled and put down the fruit.

"Well, fancy dinner with flowers? Sex marathon followed by the ring in your underpants? Bowling Alley with the ring in the holes?"

Ryan raised a brow. "I haven't put much thought into how I'm going to ask just yet. I was thinking about dropping the ring into her champagne glass."

Every RM video that I commit myself to watch (meaning the ones without the shit pictures and tacky graphics) makes me tear up. A lot of them. Not Pretty Rave Girl, but a lot of them. I can't help it. They are the only, yes ONLY couple that turns on the instant water works for me. I didn't even cry when Romeo and Juliet died in both movies I watched. Nothing does it for me. I mean, I suppose Sethummer and Taryan were the happier lighter couples...but Ryrissa...they made me think...make me think. I love those two so much, I think they are the best love story ever. Taylor maybe the "perfect" lover for Ryan, but here's the thing...Marissa would still be the one. Love isn't about perfection, love is about love. Ryan and Marissa went through a shit storm of stuff with each other. Ryan did some of the STUPIDEST things as did Marissa. (gawd why don't people blame Ryan for running off with Sadie, getting Theresa almost preggo, not condoming up with Theresa when having sex with her, breaking into her locker and stealing her property...etc...etc...? Marissa did dumb things too but Ryan isn't innocent--at all) But, they were able to be in love...able to forgive...able to...love and even though they never really forgot it didn't matter. This, is why I love them and will ALWAYS love them and why I always cry that they never got their happy ending. Thank goodness they're living on in Chuck.

Yes, yes I hear you, "Aren't YOU a fangirl?" but it's different, I think. Okay, hypocrisy or not I think that I'm not as fanatical as some fangirls are. It's so disgusting. I pretty much am indifferent to actors right now, and am not attracted to any of them thus far. I had that huge Orlando Bloom phase and all, but as of now, I am so lost on this "OMG ACTORS ARE SO HOT WANNA MARRY THEM AND HAVE KIDS WITH THEM!" thing...and it's...just tiring. I was 13 when I felt that way, I want to see the forty year old's excuse. Also, yeah, I realise my Adam addiction last year was kind of over the top, but after seeing some of the fans of Ben and Mischa...I'd like to say, I was quite sane.

Anyway, I guess this comes from my Ben_Support post. Oh my gawd, I appreciate the community and all, but some of the members of that place are just gawdawful and way tooooo hyper over Ben. Yeah he's hot, not OMGGGG GONNA HAVE A MELTTTDOOOWWWWN hot. Jeez. I appreciate his acting, much of the time, but, mentally I find myself correcting the whole cast when I think about what would be better. The O.C. does that for me. I've never really had to do it for any other show really. Scrubs I don't because it's a comedy I pay any attention to acting for, House I don't because I only care about the medical drama (even if it's not accurate) and Dexter...is spot on ALWAYS. And, I'm being pretty objective there. However, in the case of the O.C., they're all newbs in my opinion so correction is natural and sometimes I wish the stage direction was different. One case that comes to mind is s2, after Marissa shoots Trey, she just falls on the floor and Ryan just gets up and walks toward her like nothing happened to him. I was like, "WHAT? You were just CHOKED to death by your brother and you just get up in like two seconds to stand next to your girlfriend? I'm not impressed. Also, Seth and Summer's reactions should've been SO much better...it wasn't convincing. It was way too funny. So yeah, although the acting and stage direction could use some improvement, I guess I think the "idea" of the O.C. makes things much better. I like the witty writing, and the cuteness...also the dramz (sans Taylor).

See, I'm pretty disappointed at the fantards of Ben, and of Adam. Personally, I don't find him hot. Him with stuble is so unattractive, I can't even begin to tell you how not pretty he is with facial hair. *Shiver* Yeah, so as you can see I am *way* over finding actors attractive in RL. Mostly because they are nothing like their counterparts on the O.C. I'd never want to meet these people in person (this is a lie, I would love to and get their autographs no doubt plz), b/c it's probably ruin every single trait I've put on them because of the O.C. And, I don't want to see that come crashing down. Don't get me wrong, I hear Ben is a REALLY NICE GUY, but he's not Ryan, and I want to meet Ryan not...Ben. Lol, sorry. Also, wtf was with late season 2 Ben and early season 3 Ben? His hair was so fug I couldn't even begin to describe it. Also s4 he looked like a dirty oil baron. A hot dirty oil baron, but a dirty oil baron all the same. S1 Ryry was best. I'm so glad that s1 was ttly R/M's year. PS, wtf is with fangirls thinking that he ttly lost interest in her after the Christmas ep? Countdown was like right after that. Ugh, plz someone kill the fantards who are in DENIAL. I don't like people who watch the O.C. solely for the man meat or girl meat. I mean don't get me wrong, I love seeing hotness both for girl and guy, but plz plz plz, the show is about THE SHOW...and every part of the show. Not just "Omfg Ryan was sooooooo good in that scene!" or "Omfgs Seth is lyk SO FUNNAY I WANNA DATE A SETH!" Lol, no you don't. I'm dating one, and I can tell you that most of the girls who watch the O.C., would never date Seth in RL. This is why I hate most of the O.C. fandom. Then again, I am not crazy for most of the R/M fandom. Either they're all, "OMG R/M is best forevas! I HATE TAYLER OOGLY BETCH!" or "I multiship lol". And then there's the R/T fans who are all like, "LOL s1, 2, 3 was HORRIBLE. S4 was the BESTEST!" or "Merisa was SUCH A BITCH, Tayler is SOO MUCH BETTER!" *shiver* Kill my fandom, they're all fourteen year old girls who are better off not breathing and don't know what's good for them.

I'm pretty much settled in the fact that a lot of R/T fans are kinda stupid. I mean R/M fans are stupid too, but I think there's some sort of blindness people get when they deal with the O.C. Honestly, Marissa was such a good character but they kind of killed her in the third season, both figuratively and literally. She cared so much about Ryan in all of the seasons and it showed. They were in love, most definitely. Sure, they had their ups and downs, but they were always together and believe it or not, if Marissa were alive Ryan would most certainly not be with Taylor. And, sadly, I'm sure most R/T fans know that too. Rules of the O.C., people. All in all, Riss did make a lot of dramz, and she got herself into so many messes...but they weren't always her fault. I think people don't remember that Ryan did a lot of bad to her too. Last time I checked, not condoming up when sleeping with a girl, getting your ex potentially preggo during a one week break, kicking the crap out of a guy you're jealous of for no reason (lol, nice soccer move Ryan, so gewd), breaking into your girlfriend's locker and stealing her private property...are qualities of someone who is always good. Trufax, R/M did a lot of shitty things to each other, but there was always forgiveness and always love. This is why, I love them. R/T is a boring, ditzy, cracky relationship that would lose its appeal quickly after s4 because let's face it...we can only lol so long at Ryan Atwood being happy.

P.S., I hate the double standard in fandom.Girls don't deserve the hate all the time. I mean, even though I'm all "Taylor is kind of a witch queen". She kind of is, but I really try to avoid bashing her. It's not her I don't like, it's the fact that she's with Ryan that bugs me so bad. Their relationship is so cracked out and ridiculous, it feels like Maiko but worse. This is why I hate it more (just a bit) than Maiko. Not enough zazz, and way too much cheese. Can you believe people thought R/M was cheesier than this? Guh, even S/S was cheesier than R/M at times but I love S/S. But yeah, I really don't think that Marissa deserved all the hate. She was a great person who just ended up doing stupid things because of how naive she was and how TRUSTING she was of people. Trufax, I know people like Marissa...and I myself am quite like her at times...but I love that girl. She is so good, and Ryan and Marissa...are so good.

First Story: Dissociate, Reincarnate
Pairing: "R/M", R/T, S/S, S/A, A/G the O.C.
Summary: Nine years from where we left, Ryan and Taylor are happily engaged after a night of passion where Ryan pops the question to an excited Taylor who happily agrees. Heeding Sandy's advice, after serving 4 years at his firm, Ryan decides to go back to school to get his masters and ends up being the teaching assistant for an Architectural Studies course where he meets a young, blue eyed girl named Adelaide bearing a striking resemblance to his dead lover, Marissa. Intrigued by the girl, Ryan begins digging up information about her and learns she is the daughter of a wealthy stock broker and a rising socialite. As his unhealthy fascination with the girl increases, his relationship with Taylor wanes in the process.

A Valley, A Plant and an Ex
Meanwhile, after accepting a job as a exterior decorator, Anna arrives in Newport after learning of Summer and Seth's marriage. And with her, she has brought her fiance. To Seth and Summer are surprised to find that Anna's fiance is none other than celebrity, Grady Bridges. Jealousy sparks between Grady and Seth, and an absolutely outrageous battle of wits and speed beak out between them.

I am a multi-shipper, but yet I have some sort of hatred of people who can multiship my OTPs. It bothers me IMMENSELY. Honestly I don't know what squicks me about it because to be honest, I'm sure some people are quite angry that I love Sethxeveryone, as do I like Sokkaxeveryone. Hey, they're the comic relief characters, I deserve to multiship them! However whenever I find out people ship ryrissa and taryan, I feel an UNDOUBTED loathing. I can't hate thim as much as full out Taryan shippers (I don't actually hate Taryan shippers, but I get SO annoyed just looking at their icons, I start to hate them and I can't help it but I know I should...) but I can't love them as much as full on Ryrissa shippers. Now, I'm not saying "PICK A SIDE AND STAY ON IT!" but, I just had to get that out. Multishipping bugs me, but I do it too...gawd, I just wish I could let other people do it.

I guess one of the things that bugs me about Ryan/Taylor is the fact Marissa is dead and Ryan "fell" for Taylor in no time. Oh lawlz, Marissa's ghost said she was okay with you banging someone else...come on, where is Eva Longoria's venomous ghost when you need her?? So, that's what bugs me first. What else bugs me is that Taylor was written as a Marissa replacement and even LOOKS like Marissa except shorter. It's so annoying. Her hair is blonder this season, and she looks less tan. It's WEIRD. Honestly, what makes me so angry is that they've actually full on replaced Marissa with this chick who used to hate them all. It squicks me so bad, I can't help it and gawd help me Taylor is the cutest thing in the world, but she's annoying. I'd never be her friend--ever. Or, I'd be an acquaintance and much like Turk and JD like to say, "Hooch is crazy!" I'd say, "Taylor is CRAZY." Seriously though, Autumn Reeser is the cutest thing in the world, her face kind of bugs me though. And yeah, Marissa/Mischa is prettier than her but Autumn is sweeter. Honestly, Mischa looks terrible (as in sick) now, GET BETTER SOON MISCHA. She is so gorge, gawd, that girl just needs to stop being stupid. I'm so glad she's off the draaaggs and is gonna get better soon. Please, dear Lord Mischa, for the sake of your career...off with the coke, and eat something, you are too beautiful to be frail...you have an Amazon woman physique, now pick up a cheeseburger.

All in all, I heavily dislike the Ryan/Taylor canon pairing because it makes no sense to me. I guess I can see why people would hate Zutara so much now, but really, Ryrissa is so much more interesting than Kataang and reminds me a lot of Zutara too. But, in a canon vs. fanon sense, I can see why people would hate Zutara. However, Rymmer is more like Zutara fanon wise mostly because it involves the heroine getting the hero. It is another ship that squicks me, but does not squick me as bad as Taryan. I think it's because Rymmer didn't get canon...but omg, I SWEAR to you that if Josh was allowed to do another season, he would've explored the possibility of Rymmer (like Carla/JD...WTF). So, I think I would have been MORTIFIED. Honestly, I can stand Rymmer, but only because it's a crack pairing as far as I'm concerned. If it were allowed to even be one episode of canon, I think I'd hate it more than Taryan. Maybe. Actually no, I'd probably hate both equally and then wonder, "Okay Josh, you've had your fun, can you stop being stupid and how about you write in Mischa back into the script as a girl who looks EXACTLY like Marissa and really freak Ryan out! Now, there's my bizarro world in action!" And I swear to you if they had another season to do it and they brought up the possibility, fans would've been like, "OMFG LIKE OKAY." And it would've totally ruined the show...

but, I would've been happy some how knowing that Taryan and Rymmer wouldn't have canon. More happy about Taryan not being canon actually.
Ugh, I hate Taryan so much it rivals my hatred of Maiko (WHICH IS FIERCE).

So, since I've stopped really watching the OC, cuz I finished watching season 1 and 2, I've made myself stop because I know where the show goes from there. Downhill. So, I've begun to submerse myself in the good!OC days, and kind of PTSD whatever comes next. Marissa dies? Wut? Lol you kidding! Anyway, there's a few people in fandom who I have grown to like a lot because they give me hope.

In the OC fandom, I've really grown to like Snubbly and Rmforeveryoung on LJ. Mostly because they are Ryissa fans, and do not like Taryan and speak 100% truth about the OC. I swear to Gawd people s4 is not what the OC is. It's a shell of what it is. I can pretty much get into a heated argument over people who want to tell me that s4 is what the OC was and was supposed to be. I honestly don't believe that people say that. Seriously guys, if it was so great, why was it canceled? Yeah I understand that s3 kind of sucked but seriously, if the show's fourth season is GOOD ENOUGH, then it'll be able to float. People don't just stop watching because of Marissa dying, they stop for a variety of reasons. Why couldn't it withstand the blow of Greys and CSI all in one go? It could before (well not so much Grey's b/c it didn't exist at the time...) so why not during s4. Season 4 sucked cuz it wasn't the OC.

Come on, Summer concerned about the environment/HIPPIE? Taylor a good guy? GOOD JULIE? Ryan HAPPY? You guys are kidding me. I watch this show for the stereotypes. If I wanted to see a show where characters are less set in stone, then I'll watch Gilmore Girls. Seriously you guys, most of the reason why we watch the OC is because we like the stereo\types and how the characters actually make fun of their own stereotype. It's the whole point of the show, and the good part about it. Season 4, let's FACE IT, did not have the pop-culture quality that s1 and 2 had. I mean, everyone was lolling at Marissa killing Trey (became internet culture gold after "Dear Sister") and everybody loved Ryan Atwood's unhappiness. I swear to God people must have been downing the "MAGICAL AMNESIA DUST...*OMNOMNOM*" during the fourth season. Also, thank you Maree for rectifying this perfect!Frank business. HE WAS A CONVICT. ARMED ROBBERY. DON'T YOU PEOPLE REMEMBER?

Although, TBH, I stopped liking this show after season 2 (even back then) and things aren't any different.

People who make me happy in the Zutara fandom are Greenifyme and MizSweet. Mostly because they write REALLY COOL ESSAYS about how Zutara could be canon. I don't really agree with all of it all the time, but it makes a lot of sense to me. Really, all I think we need is the CRED to ship it. I mean Sumyan fans and Sethissa fans get to ship it because they're all part of the core four...so why are Zutara fans so heavily persecuted? I don't get it really. Anyway, when this ship is canon you guys will be so pissed hahahaha.

I think I've come to the conclusion that Ryrissa are the only couple who can conjure feeling in me. Any sort of emotional feeling. As strained as Mischa Barton's acting can get sometimes, whenever she's with Ben, whenever they're doing a scene together...it convinces me. Far too much beyond belief. I'll never be a ben/mischa shipper because I disapprove of RL shipping, but their portrayal of Ryan and Marissa are...all too convincing to me. To be honest, as cute and funny as Seth and Summer are...I've never seen them as a couple that can touch me. I usually say "Awww cute", and hells yes I'm a Seth/Summer shipper but...not the same feeling. I don't get it from them.

Marissa's death only solidifies the reality of their relationship, the heartache, and how real their love was for each other. I know a lot of people have debated on whether or not they were actually in love...but...obviously, I think they definitely were. In the beginning maybe not, but what is love? They both sacrificed so much for the other. They both were able to forgive...and not in a strained way either...in a realistic, understanding way. Marissa was able to forgive Ryan of getting his ex pregnant...Ryan was able to forgive Marissa's drug and alcohol abuse. Together, they had a tough relationship that was full of tragedy and drama and like Summer said, "They're horrible together!"...and where that may be true, no matter how horrible the circumstance, no matter how much the two had wronged each other, they were always able to forgive, not just forget. And this is why this couple touches me so much.

I am fully aware that these two would never get married to each other because one of them would die before they could...or if they did, one of them would die before they could get in too deep. One of the most tragic things about this couple is, that Marissa died young. No matter how far Ryan is able to move on, I'm glad that they cancelled the series before we could see him move any further with Taylor. Because, I think they would've dismissed the fact that Ryan still probably loves Marissa and *did* for the last bit of the season. But maybe, just maybe...they had to kill Marissa because, with her alive, there would just be no moving on for Ryan Atwood. It'd always go back to Ryan being in love with the memory of Marissa, in love with her across an ocean. I really think that at the point where she died in the series, Ryan and Marissa were definitely going to end up together no matter what and only death could separate them. Which, leads me to believe they booted Mischa not just because they "wanted" to end Marissa. I truly think they could've saved the OC for one more season if they kept her alive. Just one though, then it'd be canceled...just like now.

In many ways, Marissa and Ryan remind me of Greta and Michael Furey from "The Dead". Michael died when Greta was a teenager, and he died visiting her. Greta, no matter how in love with Gabriel she is, will always have memories of Michael. Gabriel, though knows that Greta loves him, knows that when she recalls love...it won't be him riding on horses with her, or them being together...but of this boy, Michael Furey...her first true love. And this is why I still love Ryan and Marissa so much, and also why I can even stand the fact she's dead, because I know, Ryan will always love her, and remember her first when he thinks of love. Because what else is youth, but falling in love?

Also, why does everyone automatically assume that Taryan is better because Ryan was happier? How do we know that? Yeah he smiled more, but how was their relationship like? It was a joke. Honestly, it was like S1 Seth and Summer! And there was only like 10 episodes of of their relationship! There wasn't any time for drama (aside from the French guy WTF?) or any time for Ryan or Taylor to do something stupid! Which they would've because Ryan is attracted to self-destructive women (let's face that much). Also, not as much crap happened to Taylor and Ryan was well adjusted to his Newport Life at that point so brooding or angst wasn't in his job description anymore...and that in itself bothers me. So, please people, if we're going to compare Ryrissa and Taryan...let's not. Taryan was a short lived love with no time for drama, where as Ryrissa was a love that spanned three seasons. Love isn't about just being happy, love's about understanding...and from what I saw of Ryan/Marissa...they were not only happy but extremely, understanding.

This is why my OTP will ALWAYS be Ryan/Marissa.
I hate to say it, but I love it more than Zutara. Sorry guys.

Schwartz: This was always going to be a season of great upheaval and change, and at the end of the year, with graduation and people moving out into different directions, we always knew that the show was never going to be the same. And if you go back to the pilot episode of the show, tragedy is in the DNA of Marissa's character. When you first see her in the pilot, she's passed out drunk in the driveway of her house. Her dad's losing all of his money, and her boyfriend is cheating on her. This is a girl who attracted that kind of tragedy. And Ryan and Marissa, while they had some good times, were never really a happily ever-after couple. They were always the star-crossed lovers. So as we looked down the barrel at the end of the season, it just felt like that's where the show was pushing us. The show kind of paints you in a certain direction. And it was the kind of thing that will drive us into next season as the kind of cataclysmic event that will force some people to leave and some people will not be able to leave. It has a huge effect in terms of how it drives into next season.

ANS: Lol, yeah, into cancellation.

Smart move dumbass. Yes, Marissa's character was the "tragic" character, but if you had sent her off with her dad like originally planned there would be a chance for her to come back. Yeah you may have told all the stories left to tell and as a writer I respect that. However, this is a television serial. All the stories left to tell were finished the first season, I imagine that anything after was filler and Marissa like it or not was part of the glue in the show. I imagine the same would happen if ANY of the core 4 were killed, that there'd be significant decreases in ratings. If there was a chance for her to come back, there'd be only MORE stories about reunion. Then the OC could transition into a show focusing on Marissa's return after maybe half a season...then could transition into being about the kids being adults and having their own children. Hell if they actually wanted to kill her they could've done it by disease means. Have her marry Ryan, then die of cancer. Ryrissa fans get their wedding, you get to make a series where Ryan copes with the loss of his wife...still tragic amirite? See how that works Josh?

The real culprit of the reason why they offed Marissa is because of low ratings. The writers imagined if they canned a main character people would be interested in seeing how everyone deals. However, being completely stupid they forgot that RM was a main pairing and that the OC is a streaming serial. Who'd want to see how Ryan deals if half he viewing audience was waiting for a wedding? Why not kill both Ryan and Marissa? Marissa certainly did not deserve death, but her life...being so messed up, I suppose it was an end to all the suffering. Being a streaming serial, it's not like Avatar, there is no set ending so they still need enough stamina to make a new season. Truth be told, the OC's writing sucked balls in season 2 near the end, and even worse during season 3. Come on, Johnny and Volchok? Were they pulling their ideas out of their asses and from the Passions crackpot? Two horrible ideas, two way too extreme people. The girl's already been raped, and had two suicidal maniacs come after her...ridiculous.

The writing and ideas of the 3rd season were way too extreme and completely cheesy. They were stupid, inane and so stereotypical which is not what the OC is about. Come on, season 4, Taylor marries a French guy and demands Ryan to be her secret lover *cue Chong singing 'Secret Lovers and Tunnels'*? What kind of ridiculum is this? Not only did they have NO stories left to tell about Ryrissa, they didn't have many good stories to tell anyway.

All in all, I'm divided as to whether or not I'd want the OC to come back if ever. I'm pleased at how it ended. Sethummer ended up getting married, Ryan and Taylor's relationship remains ambiguous and everything turns out NORMAL. However, if they could redo s3 and s4 I hope they would. There's too many things about those two seasons that SUCK...hard. They should have fired their writers ages ago and not killed Marissa. If they hadn't killed her and decided to maybe make Summer or Marissa pregnant, way more people would've tuned in to see what would happen. I know Josh said that making Marissa die made people like her better. That's not the point of a TV serial. There will always be people we hate in a series, sometimes people we love to hate. Taylor was one of them, but she did not have the staying power of Marissa. If they'd kept Marissa alive, the OC would've been canceled...eventually but they could've secured a solid season 4 then maybe a half way canceled 5. NO ONE likes to be canceled, they should've at least known how to bow out gracefully.


Okay, I have...officially lost it. So I was thinking...if the OC could pull off a Bizarro world, and has become exceedingly more cracked out and cancelled, if they restarted it again technically speaking they could make a Marissa look alike come back. You know, to test Ryan and Taylor's relationship if actually existent in the season finale. And I am positive it was AMBIGUOUS. If any Zutarian knows, it's always ambiguous. Anyway, if they were to put the OC back on TV which could potentially be awesome, Mischa could work back a deal with the writers, write a completely cracked out series that could hell be *set* in a Bizarro world...we got an OC spin off. Hows about THAT for your slice of friend gold?

I know, I've...I've gone insane.

This is what happens when a shipper goes into complete denial. But, after watching some of season four and confirming that Taryan is really cute (but I still don't like it), I think it's like my Kataang. Except Ryrissa is more like Kataang canon wise. 3 season set up to a relationship...always canon. Well till she died. HOWEVER, it's more like Zutara personality and dynamic wise. Canon wise, Zutara is like Taryan. It was IMPOSSIBLE. Honestly if you watched s3 you'd be like, "TARYAN HOW?" and a lot of fans went "WTFOMGTHISMAKESNOSENSE." A few months ago Ryrissa AND Sethummer fans would've said, "TARYAN IS A CRACK SHIP." Well, till it was uncracked. So there. However, I do NOT ship Taryan, and NEVER will but I think I've found some soft spot for it knowing it's sort of like Zutara...in a way.

So you know, having one ship sink with a lifeless corpse, is pretty crappy so...uhh yeah, hoping Zutara won't sink. However, cynicism has always been my forte so, I'm not so optimistic. I mean DON'T GET ME WRONG, I STILL think Zutara has a chance and still will till the time comes where I have to accept my fate...but yeah, I'll have to warn you that...I may end up becoming more deluded than this current Ryrissa thing...oh lawd this is what happens when you join fandom too late. But rest assured, even if Katara ends up with Aang circa Sethummer style, I'll be writing just as much adulterous fan fiction and horrifying smut to rectify it. And of course some nice doujin. Also, thinking of doing an OC Avatar doujin. Sounds crazy no?

Ryan is...brooding, violent, stubborn, has a quick temper, is extremely caring, chivalrous, has a bad father and a mother who ran away
Marissa is...sweet, emotional, gorgeous, friendly, defensive, self-righteous, has a father she loves dearly who is never there and a mother who she hates

Aside from Marissa's mother being alive and a dragon, the qualities MATCH. So, I'm thinking about it when I get some free time. Guh, save me from my fandoms.

Ryissa strikes again...and sounds strangely like Zutara. Anyway, you all may be wondering why I'm suddenly so "OMG the OC!" I recently rewatched a few season 1 episodes and remembered why this show is amazing. Season 1 and 2 are incredible. It is ALL downhill from there. Mind you, there are great Ryan/Marissa moments in S3, but, doesn't do it for me like S1 did. Also, I've been fangirling over the OC since...grade 10? I dug up an old entry where I say Ben McKenzie is hot.

My opinions haven't changed. In fact, I like Ben FAR more than Adam Brody now. Adam's cute but he's not as fit as Ben =). Ben, get new hair. Your S4 hair sucks.

I'm mourning the death of Marissa and the tragedy that is season 4 OC. I'm glad that Taylor and Ryan don't *actually* end up together except in passing glance. Truth, Taylor was probably recycled for Ryan. I don't think they were ever meant to end up with each other. Not saying that Marissa was Ryan's "twu wub", but she was way more important to Ryan than Taylor could ever be. It's not even Taylor's fault. Marissa was the first girl in the OC to pay any mind to him and she was the girl who gave him what he wanted. Ryan was a troubled kid who just needed love. He was never the bad kid, he was always a good kid. Marissa on the other hand was the one who needed the saving. She wanted to love, but couldn't due to the relationships she was in. She was this sheltered girl who lived in a glass bubble for so long without even thinking about anybody other than herself, her father and her best friend. All Coop wanted was to love someone and have them love her back the way she did. Ryan did that. Sure she was troubled, but if your parents divorce, you hit the poor house and lose everything you've ever held dear all at once...wouldn't you go crazy? I know I would. Ryan was someone who knew what it was like, and wanted to save her because he knew how the pain was.

Although there's always debate about whether or not Ryan and Marissa were actually "in love" with each other is granted. I can't say I am sure myself. However, what I do know is that Marissa was the person who Ryan knew and loved for three years. It's hard to give that up. They didn't really complete each other to be honest, but who said they ever needed to be complete? Sure, Taylor "dulled" Ryan's edges and Ryan calmed her crazy, but all of this kind of bores me. Taylor is supposed to be insane, she is crazy and she's hilarious. I don't want to like her, I want to hate her so much that I like her. Ryan...honestly, if I wanted a dorky lovable guy who just wants someone to love I'd kick boots with Cohen. To me, the Taylor x Ryan relationship is almost a duplicate of Seth x Summer...without the rabbits. Of course, they're not the same in many ways, but the dynamics are alike. Ryan isn't a blond version of his boyfriend brother. He's Ryan. Troubled, confused, broody but with a good heart. He's already calmed himself. You know how he calmed himself? Marissa. Notice how incredibly crazy he was at the beginning of the first season, but as his relationship with her progressed, he became exceedingly less rogue and more sensible. He took on the role of the hero. Her death sparked something primitive in him though, and I guess we can thank Taylor for soothing that.

However, in saying this, I never expected Coop to survive. I was always under the impression that she dies but it would be at the end of six seasons. Also, I was expecting her to die of a natural cause like cancer. I was expecting something like leukemia, breast or maybe even cervical cancer. It'd be super tragic, and it'd be horrifying to see the anti-hero dying inside because his girlfriend is slowly dying. The car crash was sad but super cheesy and dumb. Asploding cars? Wtf? Anyway, aside from that we never got a proper farewell to Marissa and we were certainly robbed of that. If at the end of six seasons, Marissa and Ryan married but she died, that'd be exactly like what people would expect to happen. It's drama like we all love, it's terrifyingly sad because it hits close to home, and it wouldn't be spontaneous because we'd get our goodbye. So what if it's slightly been overdone. Hasn't the car exploding thing been done ten times over in Speed/Mission Impossible/Fast and the Furious/Die Hard/Every buddy cop movie? Ryan would get to say goodbye to her properly, there could be the double wedding with Ryan and Marissa and Seth with Summer, and we could still fast forward into the future. Julie Cooper ends up with Frank as her BFF (plz not to be BF time nao!), Sandy and Kristen send their kid off to school, Summer and Seth have many children, Ryan works as an architect and sees the kid and asks to take him in. Yeah, Ryan ends up alone but...it isn't as if he doesn't end up with Taylor for real in the season 4 finale. So, fan fic writers rejoice?

Anyway, I like my idea...so I'm sticking with it.
